Monday
MONDAY TIMETABLE OF ACTIVITIES
9.00 - 10.00 ZOOM - MATHS (after zoom, if time, Lesson 1 sheet can be finished)
10.00 - 10.30 - BREAK TIME
10.30 - 11.30 ZOOM - ENGLISH During this session we will look learn about common features of non-chronological reports. All the learning for English will be done in this zoom session. 
11.30-12.00 - Please complete Maths multiplication from this morning. If finished TT rockstars or reading.
1.00 - 3.00 - This afternoon there will be NO live zoom sessions as you would usually have PE and COMPUTING.  See below for PE and Computing task.

TUESDAY TIMETABLE OF ACTIVITIES
9.00 - 10.00 ZOOM - MATHS (after zoom, if time, Lesson 2 sheet can be finished. Please feel free to view the video I have made to remind yourself of how to use the compact method of short multiplication)
10.00 - 10.30 - BREAK TIME
10.30 - ZOOM - ENGLISH There will be  a shorter zoom session to introduce this task but we will not all remain on zoom for the duration of the lesson as I can't fit all of the text and questions on to the screen. After the zoom finishes, you will be expected to complete the VIPER questions in your book in FULL sentences or type directly on to the task sheet. We will feedback the answers at 1pm during the first part of our afternoon zoom. 
11.30-12.00 - TT rockstars/ reading/ precision times tables 12X
1.00 ZOOM - Complete Science lesson - see instructions below under Science for  recap.
2.30 Zoom - feedback form science task and story.

In the first activity, I would like you to find some objects around your house such as:

  •         A coin
  •         A paperclip or hair clip
  •         A rock
  •         A piece of slate (if possible)
  •         A wooden spoon
  •         A piece of paper
  •         A plastic ruler
  •         A fridge magnet or any type of magnet (needed for later to test the properties of materials)
  •         A nail (needed for later to test the properties of materials)

Work through the PowerPoint thinking about the properties of the materials you have collected.

TASK ONE complete the properties of materials sheet attached and further instructions

TASK TWO See task 2 sheet and complete some of the tests on your materials.

10.30 - ZOOM - ENGLISH During this lesson you will be asked to use a question template to help you do some research about the modern Olympics. You can also use other sources of information - books/internet to help you.  
11.30-12.00 - TT rockstars/ reading/carry on with modern Olympic research. 
1.00 ZOOM - to set Geography task (see description under Geography for recap on what to do.)
2.30 Zoom - feedback form geography task and story.

Geography – Types of Settlement

After the zoom session, use the sheet 1 attached below. First, read about the six settlements. Which one best describes where you live? Next, look at the settlements that are described.  On each one, give them a score out of 6 – for both population size and services. 6 is the highest score 1 is the lowest score. After you have done this, look at the next page and you will see a triangle. Try to fill in the missing labels. Do you notice a link between the population and the number of different services that are offered?

Finally, when you have done the tasks above, write a description like the ones on the sheet of where you live.
