Good morning everyone! Live English zoom today - our handwriting from Friday's lesson. Week 5 session 2. We are also going to do some work on apostrophes.
Maths - video link until my voice is 100% back to normal!
Topic this afternoon- Mr Wilcox has set you some Purple mash and there is a fun PE activity for you to try out. If you don't have ball or bats at home- be creative and improvise! You could use balloons, your hands, use a marker in the garden instead of a cone.
Tuesday 9th February 2021
English live zoom with me this morning - all about metaphors. There is a metaphor game below if you want to do some extra practice and there is a word mat to help you if you are stuck for ideas.
Maths - video link today.
This afternoon is Science! Watch video one and then video 2 please. Complete any activities that the teacher tells to you do. Once you have watched these videos, then you can take a look at the chocolate investigation powerpoint. It is only a few slides long, but it will tell you what to do. There is an investigation sheet to complete as well.
You may need to improvise a bit- as I suspect you may not have the thermometer required to measure the exact temperatures- but it will help you get an idea. I would choose 3 places to test the temperature. Perhaps outside (it is SO COLD at the moment), you could get a grown up to help you with some boiling water, and maybe choose another option too. I doubt you have tin foil containers either- this is ok. Use an alternative, like a pyrex dish. Just remember to think carefully about what you have learned from the science lessons and use this to help you explain what results you get.
I have also put an alternative science experiment on the page too- dancing raisins! You could have a go at this, as well as or instead of the chocolate.

Topic - This week, there is a pre-recorded session from me for Geography. I would like you to understand and compare the landscapes of Mylor Bridge (or where you live) to Whitby.
I would then like you to take some photographs of your local area. You can do this over half term too. Ensure you take a variety of photographs. You will need them for your Geography work after half term. Make sure you take pictures of residential use, industrial use, agricultural use, recreational use. Also, take pictures of your favourite landscapes or favourite buildings/ monuments, familiar sights to you in your local area.
